San Francisco, CA – CohnReznick Capital Markets Securities, LLC congratulates Britta von Oesen, Vice President, on her appointment as Co-Chair of the Solar Energy Industries Association’s (SEIA) newly announced Women’s Empowerment Sub-Committee.

The goal of the sub-committee is to strategically engage nationwide organizations in uniform efforts around women’s empowerment within the U.S. solar industry, and to provide a national platform for these efforts to be disseminated and amplified. In addition, the sub-committee will lead the establishment of a career workforce development and mentorship program for women in the solar industry.

“This is an exciting opportunity for me to work with SEIA and other industry associations to promote diversity within the solar industry,” stated von Oesen. “CohnReznick Cap Markets has long played a leading role in the renewable energy sector, and we will continue to do so through leadership opportunities such as this. Our sub-committee will strive to empower and amplify the efforts currently being undertaken by women leaders in the solar industry across the United States, as well as educate those that will lead the industry into the future.”

“Solar is committed to being the most diverse energy sector in America. As a driver of that commitment, SEIA’s Women’s Empowerment Sub-Committee is led by talented, dedicated and accomplished leaders—and that leadership is strengthened by the addition of Britta von Oesen,” said Tom Kimbis, SEIA’s interim president.

“Leaders like Britta who ‘roll up their sleeves’ and volunteer their time to this Initiative are critical to its success. I am grateful for her leadership and look forward to collaborating,” said Sara Rafalson, Co-Chair of SEIA’s Women’s Empowerment Initiative and Director, Policy & New Markets at Sol Systems, LLC.

Von Oesen will be joined by another industry veteran, Susannah Stroud Wright, who is Deputy General Counsel and Head of Compliance at SolarCity, in co-chairing the sub-committee. Von Oesen’s term will begin January 1, 2017.
