Analysis – Solar & Wind Market Cost of Energy (MCOE)

CRC-IB has completed its H2 2023 Market Cost of Energy (MCOE) analysis for 2023 through 2029 for utility-scale solar and wind projects across six regions: CAISO, Southwest, ERCOT, PJM, MISO/SPP, and Southeast (solar only). A higher cost of capital paired with a 4% average increase in CAPEX has offset the rise in merchant pricing, causing MCOE prices to increase in all regions for both wind and solar since our H1 2023 report.
