CRC-IB Advises ContourGlobal on Strategic Acquisitions for Standalone and Hybrid Solar PV Acquisitions
CRC-IB has advised ContourGlobal, a KKR-backed global independent power producer, on two successful acquisitions in the advanced solar PV space: Project Sterling, a hybrid solar-plus-extended duration storage project located in Arizona, and Project Crown, a latest-technology solar PV portfolio with projects in Colorado and Virginia.
Project Sterling has an installed capacity of 567 MWp of PV power generation and 321 MW/1.3 GWh of BESS (four hours duration), positioning it to play a key role in delivering clean, renewable energy to the CAISO and WECC-Southwest regions. The transaction was ContourGlobal’s first in the western United States and is set to start the marketing phase for potential offtake agreements soon.
The Project Crown solar portfolio, which includes two solar projects totaling 446 MWp, strengthens ContourGlobal’s presence in the WECC and PJM interconnection markets, supporting its ongoing growth in the U.S.
“These strategic acquisitions underscore ContourGlobal’s commitment to providing sustainable, low-carbon power solutions,” said Britta von Oesen, CRC-IB Partner & Managing Director. “We are proud to support their efforts to decarbonize the grid.”
